We get questions all the time, but that’s great because we love interacting with our customers. However, sometimes you just want a quick answer so here are a few of the most common questions we get. Hope these help, but if they don’t, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

What comes in the monthly subscription box?
Each month is different, but you will receive over 9 ounces of soy-based waxes of varying scents to complement the season.  9 ounces is generally enough to keep 1 scent warmer burning for around 200 hours, which at 6 hours a day is a month.

Can I purchase a subscription box as a gift?
Absolutely!  Just let us know in your order comments that this is a gift and we will send them to the shipping address you specified.

How does the subscription work?
When you sign up for the West Avenue Home subscription box service, you will receive a uniquely curated box of wax melts which will be shipped on the 10th of the month.

When will I be charged?
Depends on whether you selected monthly or Semi-Annual/annual billing. 

Monthly Billing: You will only be charged immediately if you sign up on the 5th of the month, after which we will ship your first box on the 10th.  If you sign up any other day you will be charged on the next 5th of the month and your first box will ship on the 10th of that month. For example, if you sign up on the 3rd of the month, you will be charged on the 5th and box will be mailed on the 10th; if you sign up on the 8th, you will be charged the following month on the 5th and your box will be mailed on the 10th of the following month.  You’ll be billed automatically on the 5th day of each month (unless you cancel by 1 am CST on the 5th). If we’re not able to collect your payment on our first try, we’ll make several more attempts to bill your card and get your box to you. If you’re card is declined after 5 attempts, you will not receive a box this period, however, your card will be attempted the next billing cycle to continue your subscription. If you update your payment details while our billing cycle is open, you’ll see an option on our website to process your payment instantly yourself so you don’t have to wait until our next automated attempt.

Annual / Semi-Annual Billing: You will be charged immediately for the full amount. Your first box will be mailed the 10th of the month. You will continue to receive subscription boxes per your subscription. Your subscription will be renewed at the same time of the month in 6 months (for semi-annual) and in 12 months (for annual).

How does shipping work and how much does it cost?
Shipping is super simple! We offer free shipping on all orders over $12.95, under that it is a simple flat-rate $5.00 regardless of what you order!  Using USPS first class shipping, we currently ship to the U.S. (including its territories, PO Boxes, APO, DPO, and FPO boxes).

When I submit my credit card information online, is it secure?
Absolutely! We use secure end-to-end encryption (see the lock at the top of your browser? It’s working!) to ensure your data is safe. Additionally, we don’t store any credit card details on our servers. For more information regarding what we do with your information please see our privacy policy.

I'm not a fan of the scent I purchased or received in a box, can I return or exchange it?
You may return the unused product within 14 days after placing the order. The product must remain unused and you will be charged a 20% restocking fee. Unfortunately we do not accept returns or conduct exchanges for our monthly subscription boxes. If you would like to place a return, just contact us and let us know.

Can I apply coupon codes to items on sale?

How do I store the wax melts until I use them?
To keep them fresh and ensure they maintain a decent throw, keep the scents in a cool, dry, dark space. Generally, if you keep them in a drawer in the original packaging the scents will maintain their scent throw.

How long are the scents good for?

How do I store the wax melts until I use them?

How much wax should I use?
There are numerous variables that can affect how long wax lasts such as temperature of the wax melter. In general, 0.5 ounce to 1 ounce is usually more than enough for most rooms in your home. This is about 1 cube/shape from our packages. This small amount should last around 10 hours of continuous melting. The entire pack, approximately 2.4 ounces, should last around 50 hours of continuous melting.

Some of the melts seem discolored, is that a problem?
Nope, just means it’s 100% real soy. This discoloration is known as “frosting” and is very common with soy-based waxes. The scent and longevity of the scent is unaffected by frosting.
